Momentum on Cape Wind
The Cape Wind Project, a wind farm proposed off the coast of Cape Cod, recently advanced one step closer to construction.
After more than six years of review, the Minerals Management Service (MMS), the agency in charge of Cape Wind’s federal environmental review, released a positive environmental-impact analysis, which found that the project would have “negligible” or “minor” impacts on vegetation, wildlife, and ship and air traffic.
This winter, the public had a chance to weigh in on the federal review, and Bay Staters responded in force. More than 3,300 Environment Massachusetts supporters submitted public comments in favor of Cape Wind, and dozens more submitted their photo to Environment Massachusetts’ photo petition to show MMS the faces of Bay Staters for Cape Wind.

Dozens of Environment Massachusetts members and e-activists, including Lily Cavanagh (above), joined our photo petition in support of Cape Wind.
