From rising sea levels to more dangerous heat waves to increasingly severe hurricanes, the effects of global warming pose a mounting threat. The good news is that the solutions to sharply reducing global warming pollution from the largest sources—power plants, cars and SUVs and factories—are at our fingertips: energy-efficient homes and business, clean energy sources like wind and solar power, cars that go farther on a gallon of gas and more. We are working to reduce global warming pollution by at least 15 percent by 2020 and by 80 percent by 2050 in order to protect future generations and avoid the worst effects of global warming.
