Repower Massachusetts

What's new

Right now, we're building citizen support to help convince Gov. Deval Patrick to strengthen his commitment to energy efficiency by:

  • Ensuring that all federal stimulus money is spent according the recommendations of the Energy Efficiency Coalition—fighting global warming, boosting renewable energy, and creating green jobs.
  • Setting the highest targets mandated by law for reducing global warming pollution—25 percent below 1990 levels by 2020.

Overview

It’s time to repower Massachusetts—to unleash the power of clean energy and construct efficient green buildings to help rebuild and refuel our economy.

  • We can harness the power of the wind and the sun—they won’t run out, they don’t harm our environment, and they’ll only grow cheaper over time.
  • We can put Bay Staters back to work building wind turbines and solar panels, and retrofitting our homes and businesses to be more energy efficient.

Massachusetts has already taken steps forward on clean energy, but with citizens across the state calling for bold action on clean energy and climate change, we have a unique opportunity to make big change.

To make it happen, we need to ramp up our investment in clean, renewable sources, such as wind and solar power. And we’ll have to use and waste less energy, by making our homes and businesses far more energy efficient.

That’s not just the right choice for our environment and our climate—investing in clean energy and green technology will help to create green jobs and build a stronger, more competitive economy for Massachusetts.
