Help Us Dump Dirty Diesel this Summer
The soot from outdated diesel engines is taking a serious toll on our
health. Diesel soot causes almost 10,000 asthma attacks a year in the state, and
it cuts short the lives of 450 Massachusetts residents each year. Hot spots,
like Suffolk County, have some of the highest levels of soot pollution in the
country.
But by bringing our diesel fleet up-to-date, we can drastically reduce the
risk to our health. We just need the will to make it happen.
